Annual modem deals?

Last year about this time there was a great deal on PCMCIA 28.8 modems from
Computer City (at least I think that was the outfit). They were $99. 

Has anyone heard of a similar deal this year? Last year, it ended on
January 1. I am hoping there is a tradition for such deals.... :-)
