Somebody recently posted here a desire to purchase a Dock II. I have a Dock II and Display Shelf (which lets you use the Dock II as a display monitor stand as well as a docking station) that I don't use. I've still got proof of ownership and original packaging. I'm offering it for sale at a fair price, or by two-round auction if nobody offers my asking price. To find a fair price for a like-new-but-used Dock II, I called PC Connection, a major U.S. discount computer equipment seller. They have five used, "refurbished" Dock IIs in stock right now for US$600 each, plus shipping. They also sell the Display Shelf for US$65 plus shipping. I'll match PC Connection's US$600 price for the Dock II and throw in the Display Shelf for free (you pay shipping from San Francisco, California). The person who originally posted the request gets priority; offer my asking price by 11:59pm January 15 and you get it (please let me know it is you). If the original requester does not offer my asking price, I'll sell it to the first person who offers my asking price before 11:59pm January 15. If nobody offers my asking price by 11:59pm January 15, I'll announce the highest bid and allow one week to beat it. If no higher bid arrives by 11:59pm January 23, I'll sell to the highest bidder. If a higher bid arrives by 11:59pm January 23, I'll announce the new high bid and allow one week to beat it, and I'll sell the Dock II to the highest bidder as of 11:59pm January 31. For purposes of this sale, dates and times for e-mail bids are determined by the date and time my POP server (in the U.S. Eastern Standard Time zone) receives the message, as noted in the message headers.
