Hey all,
I just wanted to let you know that IBM has a replacement part for the 760EL
series. It seems that there was a problem when you tried to put more that
one 32 Meg DIMM in the adapter. One of the technoweenies over here (hey, I
count myself as one!) got his hands on two 32 Meggers, and it hosed his
system. Once I got ahold of IBM they said that they knew of the problem,
and overnighted a new memory adapter to me (the thing you actually plug the
DIMMs into). All I had to do was return the old one. This is only on some
of the older 760EL's, and I don't remember exactly how the person knew I
needed one, but it was based on the part number of the adapter. It was
free, so if you have an EL, maybe you should give them a call.
