Re: Caddy for TP760?

Well the review of the slim 760 hard drive caddy is in. I received mine
last week.

The slimline 1.3GB Toshiba drive fit in the enclosure with a little
coaxing. The enclosure is pressed from thin metal of some sort and appears
to be of good quality.

The cable connecting to the drive doesn't attach to the master/slave pins,
so you could set a jumper if you like. Since the normal bay is a master
and the ultrabay is a slave, you would have to open the case and change the
jumper every time you switched.

After everything was assembled, I couldn't get it to physically fit into my
TP760E. It appeared to be close, but I didn't want to force it. Next, I
tried to put it into a TP755 and it worked just fine. Luckily, I knew
someone who needed such a drive for a TP755 so I sold it to them.

PS Solutions said said future units would be modified in manufacturing so
they might work better. If anyone had better luck with these enclosures,
please let me know.
