The Easyserve process will not install non original componets in a
thinkpad that is sent in for repair/reload of s/w.

As for removing the tinfoil, I'm not positive that it woild void the
warranty but I do know it will void the FCC requirment for EMF noise.
It may alos reduce the quality of sound or pictures of items close to
them. 

Just a throught, do you think it will void the warranty of your
refrigator if you remove some of the materials arround the cooling
coils or compressor.
