Fry's electronics in Los Angeles had Toshiba 2.1 GB MK-2101MAN
drives available for $494 new. I've seen similar drives in the
London used computer marketplace for approximately $250 used with
90 day money back warranty. With a little mechanical skill you
should have no problem installing this drive. IBM's TP 7xx BIOS
recognizes these drives as LBA (linear block array) devices, does
some reasonable logical reformat to pretend they have more heads
than really exist in order to keep the cylinder count low enough
to make any partition bootable.
