I plan to purchase a 760XD (MMX) when they become available next quarter.
This thinkpad is suppose to have the same amount of VRAM (2 meg) that the
760ED has as well as 12.1 screen with 1024 by 768. I would like to hear
what experiences 760ED owners have had in connecting their notebook to a
multimedia projector. Specifically, I have the following questions:
If the projector is 800 by 600, what happens to the 1024 by 768 screen of
the notebook? Does it also become 800 by 600? If so, does the multimedia
projector display 16.7 million colours at this lower resolution?
If the projector is 1024 by 768 does it display the same 65,000 colours as
the notebooks LCD?
Is it possible to turn off the LCD screen and in doing so enable a
multimedia projector to display 16.7 million at 800 by 600? What about 16.7
million at 1024 by 768?
Any other thoughts on connecting a thinkpad to a multimedia projector
would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Best, Doug
