Want to sell your IBM ThinkPad 560 or 760?

I'm a PhD student in the Computer Systems Laboratory at Stanford
University. I need to buy a notebook computer to write my thesis and
other research papers. I used a borrowed IBM ThinkPad 760ED for a few
days and really liked it, so I would love to buy a used ThinkPad 760
or a slim and light 560 too. I have not been able to find many used
ThinkPads for sale, so I am joining the ThinkPad mailing list even
though I don't have a ThinkPad in hope that I can buy a ThinkPad from
someone on the list. To anyone who is considering selling his or her
ThinkPad soon, please let me have a chance to buy it? I'd like to buy
a ThinkPad 760 or 560 series with at least 16 MB RAM, 810 MB disk or
bigger, and an active matrix display. I'd also consider older
ThinkPad series such as the 755 or 701 if they come loaded with lots
of RAM, disk, and other goodies such as a CDROM drive and a PCMIA
Ethernet card.

You don't have to live in the San Francisco Bay Area to sell your
ThinkPad to me. We can use Trade-direct, a business which acts as an
intermediary between a seller and a buyer, to reduce the risk for both
of us. Trade-direct reduces your risk because I can give them my
credit card number and they will make sure the credit card is OK
before they give you the go-ahead to ship the ThinkPad to me. You'll
know before you ship the ThinkPad that I've already put the full price
in escrow with Trade-direct and I can't get it back unless I ship the
ThinkPad back to you in exactly the same condition as you shipped it.
If I damage it in any way, Trade-direct won't refund the money to me
and I'll have to keep the ThinkPad. You can read Trade-direct's web
page at http://www.trade-direct.com/c2k/ for more information.

Very truly yours,
