Re: 1st you CD it, then you don't



Well, I've answered my own question. Unlike my desktop cd-rom, it's
necessary to turn on the laptop cd-rom _before_ booting up in order that it
be recognized. The installation instructions noted that it was necessary to
turn it on to install the unit; I didn't realize it needed to be turned on
in advance all the time to work, vs. having the option to run it on the fly.
