560 lockup/suspend problem

I've been using my new 133 MHz 560 for about 6 weeks now. Only one
problem:

Occasionally the trackball and keyboard lock up. No input - even
CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't register. This happens both with the battery and
AC.

When it happens, the SUSPEND indicator light starts blinking green.
FN-F4 (suspend) does nothing. FN-F12 or FN-F2 produce a BONG sound
and the blinking green goes out - but the freeze continues. Closing
the cover and reopening also is ineffective. The only way I can stop
it is cold reboot.

I noticed on the ThinkPad IBM site:

ftp://ftp.pc.ibm.com/pub/pccbbs/mobiles/sytpk104.txt

an update for the 560 BIOS, with 3 versions. But I have the second,
v. 1.01 (which does describe some fixes to SUSPEND). V. 1.04, which
is later, seems only to address adding password capability.

Is there a setting in TP Tools that I'm missing?

Thanks in advance,
