I don't usually use hibernate, or safe suspend for that matter, because
with 40 meg of RAM it would require making a 40 meg hibernate file,
which is space I don't care to waste, so I'm not sure if it is a problem
in hibernate. I have tried safe suspend, which is a work around in the
event that the battery swap causes a loss of power, but at the price you
pay for an IBM I don't want a work around that wastes disk space and
battery life for reboot. So I prefer to be able to use suspend either
from the start menu, closing the lid, or the Fn+F4 key combo. Right now
I'm trying to determine Win95's and its APM's compatibility with this
non-disruptive battery swap feature. I have a .txt file from IBM's site
that discusses upgrading to Win95 on ThinkPads and it indicates that the
701 is fully compatible with APM 1.1. Do you have any trouble with hot
battery swaps?
Thanks for the input.
