RE: trackpoint caps?
For what it's worth - I'm using Tosh trackpoint caps (which I can get from work, as they "support" Toshes), but if you have to buy them, they're MUCH cheaper than IBM...

For what its worth, my 560 and 701 use the exact same caps.
I think this is very much a standard part, at least among ThinkPads.
