I'm not sure on the details of the charging protocol of the 365XD, but with the older 
ThinkPads I understand that the best thing is to discharge the battery down to a very 
low residual charge and remove it.  Don't try and store it charged or it will self discharge 
(NiMH do this much faster than NiCd) which causes damage to the plates.  That is my 
understanding, however there may be others out there who have a better knowledge 
of the IBM implementations.

My main reason for replying, I have to confess, is to ask the same question re Li ion 
batteries under the same conditions - should they be removed, and if so in what state 
of charge?  Full, empty, or low residual?
