At-Lan-Tek Pocket Ethernet Adapter on the TP750Cs

Has anyone had any success using the At-Lan-Tek Pocket
Ethernet/Parallel Port Adapter on the TP750Cs under Linux?  I
have one that I've used on another machine and I'd like to be
able to use it on the TP750 as well.  

Unfortunately, I have had absolutely no success.  There is no
indication that the kernel recognizes it at all.  

I'm beginning to wonder if the parallel port is incomplete or
requires some special initialization.  I believe the kernel is
properly configured because the same kernel works on my other
machine.
