Which kernal are you running? I've got 2.0.29 on my thinkpad 701-cs (Same as yours) and have no problems with any of these functions. (althought the only apmish type things I do are fn-f4!) Sound pcmcia x all work fine. So my suggestion is too check your verision!

Does anybody here use Linux on a 701cs (dx4-75) besides myself? I can't figure out how to install APM
support, and I've already tried upgrading the kernel to 2.0.27. I'm having the same problem with PCMCIA and
the internal ESS688 AudioDrive chipset. Any suggestions? Do I need additional packages? Thanks.
