Number of colors with TP701CS and Linux and X

	Hello all.
I have a TP701CS running a very modified Slakware 3.0 Linux.  I have
updated much of the system, but I am still running Xfree 3.1.  The maximum
number of colors under X with the SVGA server is 256 with XFree 3.1.
Before I go through the downloading of 3.3 is anybody running a newer
version of Xfree (3.2 or 3.3) with a TP701C(S) and getting 16 bit or
better color depth?  Thanks in advance for any help.
