Hi, I don't quite have a clear on how to identify this problem, but here's what I've been noticing: * some WAV files won't play. I get some sort of message saying there's a device missing * some AVI files won't play. Also some sort of device missing. * trying to install Focal Point (the 32-bit successor to FaxWorks)I can't get the message files to play. * I am able to record and play using the Sound Recorder. * When I try to convert sound files the Win95 applets, it doesn't work. Are there limitations to how the 701 handles sound? Looking in the device manager, ESS688 Sound Driver shows up. Windows installed a bunch of CODECS, but I don't know anything about them.
