I've lost my (high)memory!

Hi there,
To anyone that can be of help, I seem to have gotten myself into a
somewhat sticky situation with my 755CX. It has been running a minimal
install of WIN95 ever since I got it and until now has gotton along with
the hardware until recently. Here is what I "think" is going on: I
believe that a virus has gone and eaten the "HIGHMEM.SYS" file from my
win95 boot. Without this, I can only boot into DOS and WIN95 "Safe
Mode". From what I understand, this pretty much means I will have to do
a full re-install. Ugh. This presents some problems already.
1. WIN was installed from 3.5 disks, which I do not have. 2. I cannot
use my PCMCIA cd, as it is unavaliable in the Safe Mode. 3. While I
can probably get my hands on a 3.5 version of WIN95, I am but a novice,
and have never atempted such before, and I could use a little guidence.
For instance, will I need to install "over" the current system, as I
cannot format due to disk compression? What about all my thinkpad
specific files? Battery life, Thinkpad help, ect? What will happen to
them, and more importantly the settings controls? Any and all help
would be most, well, helpful.
