Re: 701c --> Pentium
Marc,
We perform the upgrade on the TP701 systems. For us there has been no
overheating or software conflicts. As for the IBM warranty, you will lose
that and there is no getting around it. The TP701 can be upgraded to the AMD
5X86/100mhz processor which is the response equivalent of the Pentium 75, it
is as fast. The amount of improvement depends on what speed your system is
running at now. Please contact me or visit our website if you need any other
information.
Best Regards,
Michael

Anyone upgraded their 701C 486 to a Pentium?
I've been reading about a $399 upgrade, but am concerned about: (a)
overheating, (b) software/hardware compatability, (c) voiding my IBM
warranty, and (d) whether a 75mhz (or is it 100?) Pentium is really that
big an improvement over the 486.
