Re: killCMOS kills thinkpad



As they said, if its the supervisor or Hard drive password you're screwed.  
If its the regular password, then you can override it by putting a little
jumper over a pin in the cdrom drive bay of the machine.  For the exact
location look in the Hardware maintenance manual of the thinkpad.  To see
that, do a search on www.infoseek.com (not yahoo or altavista) for
s82g1503.
That should bring up the right document from ibms documentation server.
Then just look up for your model on how to reset the password.  
If you need a jumper there might be one on the cdrom drive that you can
take off and use for this purpose.  On my 755cd it has a jumper like that.
