Re: Now FIXED TP701 Update
New update:
My 701 has now, except for removeable stuff like the hard drive, memory, multiport, power supply, etc., been
completely replaced, and also except for the metal hinges inside the machine and the LCD flex cable. And it
looks really nice: the LCD only has a small grey dot near the lower left middle portion of the screen, but that
sure beats a broken backlight and the verticle line defects it had. And now I can also use *BOTH* PCMCIA
slots, the keyboard is brand new, and actually feels better than the original, etc. Overall, it's just better!
And apparently, the Easy Serve Tech, who was actually nice this time, told me that if I wasn't so fortunate to
have the Exec. Cust. Support person cover the repair charges, I would've had to fork over $3,300 which I
don't have, and probably won't have for quite some time.
Also, are there any 701 users on this list who use Warp 4? When I start up OS/2, I get a SYS3175 regarding
CCHUSER.DLL and CCHMAIN.EXE, but on my desktop/server, running the same copy while the ThinkPad
was out, I got no errors whatsoever, so I don't know whether it could directly be related to my 701 or not. I
even copied the files from my desktop to this machine, and still got errors. TIA
