Hi,
I have an IBM PCMCIA 33.6 modem, which I am using on a ThinkPad 385CD laptop. The
com port setting I am using in windows 95 is 57,600 baud. When connecting
to Primenet (my internet provider) the modem sometimes dials, connects, makes the usual sounds modems make when connecting at 28.8/33.6, but then locks up with a steady
tone. If I disconnect and redial it usually doesn't happen on the second try, although sometimes I have to do this twice. I can usually get connected eventually.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is this normal? How can I prevent this from happening?
Thanks
J. Kevin Erwin
