RE: 701 and epson 800 printer
You might also look in the 701 setup for the parallel ports:
1. ECP is faster than EPP which is faster than a plain parallel port.
2. Your OS & program should all be pointing to the right port
3. Also look for any IRQ conflicts

How much RAM does it have? What OS? The lack of L2 cache will probably
also affect it also. How slow is slow? Does your 701c have the DX2-50 or
DX4-75?
