How do I connect my desktop and ThinkPad under OS/2 V. 4 ?

Hello,

I need to copy lots of files and programs from my desktop machine to my
ThinkPad 760 ED. Both machines are running under OS/2 Version 4. Since
TranXit for OS/2 cannot handle long filenames, it is of no use to me (and
I donīt get it running on the desktop anyway).
Doing a backup on my ZIP drive and playing it back onto the ThinkPad is
tedious - I would prefer to have a direct connection.
Somebody once mentioned to me that I can set up a connection between both
machines using a LapLink cable and using Warp 4īs inbuilt network
abilities. Since the desktop does have a netwotk card installed, I am
afraid that any experimentation cuold damage the existing setup and I
would no longer be able to access the net to call for help :-) Perhaps I
should mention that TCP/IP is installed on both machines.
Therfore: is there anybody on this list who could give me a detailed
step-by-step account of what I need to do to hook up my ThinkPad to the
desktop? Will I be able to copy files with long filenames over that
connection? What do I have to change in the MPTS notebook?
Thanks in advance for any help! I really appreciate it.

Andreas
