I don't remember exactly how much the 701 FDD is, but I know that the total is around $125-130 plus shipping and is within a few dollars of the cost of the just the housing for the 760 FDD. I leave the bigger housed FDD attached to my docking station and carry the 701 FDD with me. I really don't understand why IBM didn't include one or the other with the 760 since you'll almost certainly end up needing it.
