I was under the impression that IBM had oversees service available. Are you
still under warranty? If not, do you actually care about whether you break
the machine trying to fix it yourself? If so, then you probably shouldn't
open the case. Is the LED not working a really big deal to you?
These are all considerations you need to keep in mind in deciding what to
do. If the LED is really important and you care about your machine and you
aren't willing to send it somewhere to be serviced, only *then* would you
be S.O.L.
