Hi,
I'm about to replace my trusted 3-year old office laptop (Compaq Aero
486/33, 12MB, 250MB) with a more up-to-date one. The machine of my dreams
is the TP560E with 80 MB of RAM. However, our IS czars insist that all new
PC's being purchased must support NT (the new official corporate standard
OS for PC's).
With laptops, they tend to be very selective, arguing that full NT support
usually requires that vendors make special drivers to accomodate it. The
TP560 appears to ship only with Win95 preinstalled. Although I do plan to
run OS/2 on it (and I have no concern it will be the perfect match), I
must show the IS department proof that NT 4.0 is supported.
So is anyone out there actually running NT 4.0 on their TP560? What are
the possible shortcomings? Is IBM officially endorsing NT as a compatible
and supported OS on the TP560?
Thanks,
Dominique
