But try getting the Compaq to work with some of the larger 100+ MB IDE or MFM/RLL drives.
It's drive types are proprietary like the PS/2s, and video proprietariness is also a problem.  Of
course, Microchannel is also proprietary, but I like MCA though (32MHz bus speeds!).
