I saw this at HSC's Cotati store 3 years ago for $90; it was revolutionary for its time, but the Sony version is smaller, lighter, and faster - plus, it comes *with* the pcmcia adapter. I don't understand what you mean 'improved version' - I though Media Vision went belly up about 2 years ago. - David
