  I have heard lots of good things about it.  If I had been buying new I
would have picked the 3COM over the Motorola Mariner.  The 3COM card has
much better support in various operating systems.  I own 5 or 6 3COM
network cards and they are nice, well supported units.

  I own one other Motorola modem [a Power v.34] and it has died once
already after about 2.5 years of use.  Motorola has a habit of releasing
modems with Flash ROMs in them.  Then if you are lucky they may use it for
a bug fix later, but they will never add any increased functionality.  For
$159 for my Mariner I can live with that..  =)
