In all the Thinkpads I've changed, the holes have matched
perfectly.

So far, every Toshiba drive has been louder than the IBM drive
before it, especially that clunk they make when the drive heads park.
Saving the foil to keep dust out is tricky, I've heard (I've never
done a 701 myself). And the Toshiba model numbers that end in V are
12.5mm drives, the Ns are 19mm, and the FCs are ...weird. I've got a
Toshiba FC in my Kiwi and it's a slimline, but I've heard it varies...
