I don't know about that particular model, but on some, you can do
a "loop test", where the only way to stop the test(s) are to turn off
the machine. You might want to try that to test for intermittent
memory errors.

If you're really good at soldering, then I suppose you might be able to
replace the chips, provided you can get replacements, but I'd rather
save up and get the replacement board, if the warranty is gone.
