my apologies if this is already well-trodden ground
(no i haven't read more than 1 or 2 of the zillions
of msgs on clutter...)
it's very easy to wade thru the clutter if you have
appropriate tools. in my case, i use netscape
communicator as my mail reader.
i have defined a mail filter which automatically moves
all the traffic from this list into a separate folder,
which i can read when i choose. the messages never appear
in my main "in-box" folder, only in my "thinkpad in-box"
folder.
by clicking on the "subject" tab, i have set up my
"thinkpad in-box" folder to sort msgs by subject,
so i can quickly zero in on the one or two msgs that
i'm interested in among the many that arrive each day.
i probably average 1 to 2 minutes a day, and i still
see everything i'm interested in.
