My new 760XL can't hibernate at all. I'm running W95(OSR2) on a FAT16
partition of 2.1 GB (with 16 MB RAM). BTW - more memory has
been ordered, hopefully it'll be here before the end of the year.
Specifically, my Thinkpad crashes with a W95 VxD type of error
which causes hard crash in W95. The hibernation conditions include
lid closures, and a number of time intervals with no activity
before hibernation.
Just for kicks, I've tried the following:
a. deleting the hibernation file and then letting the Thinkpad
utilities recreate the hibernation file. No joy.
b. reloading the entire hard drive from the Restore CD which
comes with the XL. This CD restores the hard drive
(and software) to it's original, factory configuration.
No joy.
Anyone got any pointers or clues?
Thanks in advance,
Mitchell
ps: let's skip the usual "W95 sucks - you should run a
real OS" notes, please. I've got apps that work only on W95.
