701C w/ Outboard CD-Rom
Hi Christian,
I am a relatively new owner of a TP701C and realized that I couldn't load
anything on it. So besides adding 32Mb of RAM in ordered and outboard
CD-ROM drive. I recently went through the Panasonic CD-ROM trials and
tribulations. Here is what I ended up doing after I strongly considered
going from Texas to New Jersey to do the Panasonic technical non-support
people bodily harm. I called IBM Thinkpad group technical support people
who had me look into the device manager. Apparently my W95 Plug and Play
kept putting the driver on interrupt 10 which my thinkpad for some unknown
reseason didn't like. They had me take it off "auto detect" and change the
interrupt setting to 9 which worked like a charm. Ultimately I've sent the
Panasonic unit back because I received such poor service and will probably
buy and Addonics or something similar. Hope this helps.
