TP 510 and caching?

	I've got a Thinkpad 510 that's running slowly. I've noticed that
when booting up, it doesn't display the message "caching enabled" like
my 500 does. Playing with this setting in the BIOS doesn't seem to
have any effect. Anyone have an idea what the problem could be?
