But does this happen at all while you are using the machine, other than when it starts up? If it happens intermitently, it could be a cable problem. Sometimes I have problems with my 701, where the whole screen will dim down or up, and I press the display bezel because of the loose cable, but active matrix displays are different. My guess would be a loose cable. Paul
