<<I do not know if the situation has shifted but it seemed most of the non-MS stuff used Win32s so software could run on both 3.1 and 95. It seems like Microsoft is the only software vendor to cut all ties with Windows 3.1. All the new versions of software from VC++ Compilers to Office are for Win95/NT only. Microsoft does not even support Win32s anymore. One way to make 32-bit applications not run under Win95 (other than compiling them for OS/2 or Linux 8->) is to use the security or other API that is only present in NT. >> *lots* of applications, including most games, run only on Win95 these days.
