Well, I disected my 701's floppy drive with the one without a chassis. There actually is a slight model number difference, as the newer one's eject button is light purple, the older one is light blue (quite noticable), and the flex cable inside from the newer one seems to be of a higher quality. Also, the enclosure is made out of Rayon by Mitsubishi.
