You might think about a PCMCIA SCSI card and an external CD-ROM (if you have
a power source), since you can hook up a scanner, HD, tape drive, etc. also.
I think the Sony and Panasonic CD-ROMs have OEM SCSI cards anyways, and
some of the Panasonic CD-ROMs have come down (the PCMCIA ones).
