Win95b on 365XD possible?

I'm not sure what version of Win'95 came with my 365XD but I
reformatted it and installed my copy of Win'95 before knowing there
were 2 different versions available. What I had was Win'95a, but now
I'm trying to install Win'95b but for some reason I cannot get the
laptop to boot if I reformat the HD to FAT32. It boots normally
when I go back to FAT16, so is there some obscure step I'm missing or
it is it just incompatible with FAT32?

Here's the steps I took:

FDISK c: to FAT32
format c: /s
no errors reported, system files transferred, 4096 clusters,
but recieve an I9990302 error code upon reboot. Reboots
normally with a boot disk, can access HD normally, it just
won't boot off it!

So I repeat the process, except I go back to using FAT16
no errors, I get 16k clusters reported, and it boots fine now!

Any ideas? Thanks for any help!
