I agree.  In fact, there's no reason for the CDROM to weigh more than about
10 ounces (the no-battery weight of the lightest *external* drives).

Comparing weights is always difficult because published specs include
different things (for example, Toshiba used to advertise the weights of their
subnotes sans battery).  BTW, I wish there was a faux-battery available for
the 560 (as there is for the TI Travelmate, for example), so that one could
cover the gaping battery hole when the battery isn't needed.

If the 600 is really over 5.5 pounds w/battery (but w/out CD) then I
personally don't believe it qualifies as a 'subnotebook' - maybe 'midnote'
would be a better term for machines such as this (and the Sony, new NEC,
etc.)
