Just guessing but there is most likely a voltage regulator in use
and there could be some problem with transfering the heat from it
in to the heat sink on which it'd be mounted.  In general silicon
grease is used for this - I've seen a couple cases (but not IBM)
where whoever just forgot to put the grease in.  My CE has been
on a few days now - it's a bit warm but nowhere near hot.

I'd call IBM and ask about this, you might even have a little time
left on its warranty.
