Version 1.31 - February 4, 2001
By Niclas Pennskog
For use with Hardware CineMaster C
Note!
If you have the Hardware CineMaster C 3.0 version you should install
DVD Player 1.9 and new drivers for Windows 98/Me/2000.
It also seems like the DVD Player 1.9 will work for Hardware CineMaster C 1.2 cards
using the drivers included with Windows 2000.
Download the drivers and
player
here.
Since Ravisent recently removed the old drivers for Hardware CineMaster C 3.0 the instructions have been modified and are now slightly more complex.
Windows 2000 includes drivers for Hardware CineMaster C 1.2 and 3.0. The simple Windows DVD Player works, but it isn't as good as the Ravisent DVD Player. The problem is that the Ravisent DVD Player 1.5 installer does not work on Windows 2000.
Follow these instructions to install the Ravisent DVD Player 1.5 on Windows 2000. The drivers are included with the OS.
You will need WinZip (for ZIP-files) and/or WinRAR (for RAR-files) to extract some of the files.
Remember that the graphics card driver must be Macrovision compliant or there will be no video on the monitor. The included driver for TNT based cards in Windows 2000 is not compliant. But you can download newer reference TNT-drivers from nVidia.
The TV and SPDIF out will also work by following the instructions below.
Coose one of the following two possible ways to install:
"HALF AUTOMATIC" INSTALLATION
MANUAL INSTALLATION
There will be a short delay every time the DVD Player starts until the application is ready to be used.
You can also install the Software CineMaster 2000 DVD
Player for use with Hardware CineMaster C, but you will not get the settings
dialog for SPDIF and TV out. You must install DVD Player 1.5 to set be able to
up SPDIF and TV
out before using the 2000 version.
If you install the Software CineMaster 2000 DVD Player remember to deselect the
software decoder otherwise your card will not be used at all.
Software CineMaster 2000 is a commercial OEM
product that is included with some graphics cards. It is currently not possible
to buy it separate.
The CineMaster 2000 has been renamed to CinePlayer. Sonic CinePlayer can be
ordered at www.cineplayer.com.
This version has not been tested with the Hardware CineMaster cards.
