End of Interactive Support
Intel is announcing the end of interactive support for the Intel® PR440FX Motherboard. See the End of Interactive Support Announcement for details.
In order to use an LED indicator with a SCSI device connected to the onboard SCSI subsystem, connect an LED to the Front Panel I/O Header (J12G1), where pin 15 is HD ACTIVE# and pin 13 or 16 is +5V. This signal is driven by the AIC-7880 SCSI controller, as well as the onboard IDE connectors, and needs no additional input from the SCSI device.
If you want to provide an LED indicator with a SCSI device connected to an add-in SCSI controller, connect an input signal from the SCSI device to the SCSI Hard Drive Front Panel LED Connector (J13G1) using one of pins 3, 4, 5, or 6. Only one signal per device is required. If your SCSI device has a two-pin connector for an LED, the pins will be labeled similar to "Remote LED Active" and "+5V". Connect only the "Remote LED Active" signal to the motherboard. The same LED that is used to indicate activity of the onboard SCSI and the onboard IDE will then signal activity of the additional SCSI device. You may connect up to four SCSI devices to the J13G1 connector.
