I am not a member of the NRA as I feel they take an irresponsible position on who should be allowed to own and operate firearms. There should be an authority who decides that based on criteria judged to be consistent with public safety, but it should be at the local level.

The federal government would simply neuter the 2nd amendment if it felt it could get away with it.
