What they don't like is the GPL because it doesn't give them the ability to modify the code in proprietary ways, as BSD's license does.They can modify GPL code in as many proprietary ways as they feel like. They just can't make it available for free or for sale without either offering the source code under the GPL, or {asking,paying for} extra permissions from the copyright holder.
