My tp750 has taught me alot about editting config.sys and autoexec.bat!
Based on the other reply and your message, it sounds like you know what
to try. I would specifically recommend removing:
c:\qemm\loadhi /rf c:\thinkpad\fueldos
It wastes memory if you're in windows or if you are plugged in. Also,
I found a clearly reproducable lock-up it causes in windows. Fortuneately,
it seems to be associated with OS/2 leaving the battery's micro-processor
in a communicative state, so you're not likely to see it. You definitely
wont have this problem if you remove fueldos.
