games with sound

There's been at least one request for information on getting
Doom working properly on the thinkpad.  I've not succeeded
except in using the pc speaker.  I've tried running The 7th
Guest and ran into the same problem -- the software wants to
know the sound card, port number, and IRQ.  Has anyone had
any luck with getting either of these games running on the 750?
