disappearing mouse cursor

I just noticed an unusual problem with my TP360 and was wondering
if any of you out there have seen it too.

I've lost my "I-Beam" cursor within all of my Windows applications.

When a Windows app is started, the I-Beam cursor appears initially
wherever the mouse pointer was located. So far, so good.
As soon as the cursor is moved, however, it is only visible while
in motion. So if I use the Trackpoint to relocate the cursor, once
I get it to where I need it and take my finger off the Trackpoint,
the cursor disappears. (And for my next trick, I'll pull a rabbit
out of my hat!)

I don't know if this has been happening all along and I just now
noticed, but I suspect it's a new problem. The only system change
I've made recently was to upgrade to BIOS version 1.13. For this
reason, I'd be especially interested in hearing from those of you
who are running on this same BIOS version.

The problem is evident in any and all Windows apps, even the built-in
applets like Notepad, Terminal, etc. I've tried running just a plain
"vanilla" configuration to remove all potential software conflicts,
but the problem persists. Any suggestions/observations would be
much appreciated. Thanks,
